This photo was taken at the Marmore Falls. The Marmore Falls are part of a large natural park, one of the highest in Europe, with a total height difference of 165 m, divided into three jumps. During the temporary closure of the water flow, a mountain guide descends from the first jump, 90 meters high, he gave the spectators an unusual view of the waterfall. To make this picture I had to climb up the rock face in front to get a front view.|Marmore falls, Terni (Umbria), Italy|Camera: Nikon D750. Lens: Nikon 70-200mm VrII. The day off, my friends and I decided to try a new route for ourselves. And pass it with hammers using the technique of dry-tooling. With lower insurance. And we succeeded. This photo is captured close to the summit of Daltinden, a classic ski mountaineering mountain in Northern Norway. As we approached the summit, clouds moved in. And suddenly we were in nothing but whiteness. I waited a bit and let my group go ahead, not far, but far enough to see them starting to disappear. It was nice to see the colorfull clothes in the all-white landscape.|Daltinden mountain, Lyngen peninsula, Norway|Camera: Canon Eos 7 Mark II. Lens: Canon 24-105 4.0L. This shot of Doug McConnell was taken in the Grampians National Park in Australia just before a huge storm came from the west. Throughout the day the weather was rather uninspiring from the photography perspective. It was dark flat cloudy day with not much sun or contrast. Towards the end of the day I decided to try my luck, jumared up the fixed line and took a few shots of Doug who was attempting the first ascent of the line. We got lucky as for a brief moment the clouds opened up a bit and let a few sun rays through which illuminated the spectacular Victorian farmland in the background.|The Crag X, Grampians National Park|Camera: Canon 5D miii. Into the... white. With two friends we decided to enjoy the frist snow of the season with a snowshoeing excursion at the foot of Mount Mangart's north face (Tarvisio, Italy). From the millenary, snow-covered forest of Alpe Vecchia, Mt. Mangart's group looked more like Nepal than the border between Italy and Slovenia. These 2600m peaks made this early afternoon shot look like a sunset, with the last rays of a sunstar enlightening my two hiking buddies.|Alpe Vecchia, Julian Alps, Tarvisio (Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy)|Camera: Nikon D750. Kayaker Mikel Sarasola descents the waterfall known as Newen (force or energy in Mapudungun), one of the most impressive of this Andean country. This jump, lost in the province of Cautin, has the added difficulty of having the kayaker row along a narrow and imposing canyon all alone to reach the waterfall, and that once in the upper pool, there’s no escaping the 25 meters of fall. I positioned myself far away looking for the best framing while maintaining visual contact with Mikel, so that I could signal him when I was ready. The photo tries to merge the kayaker with the wild beauty of the place, melting the virgin purity of the environment and the harshness of the moment. The intense rain, dim light, the kayaker’s speed, the lack of a tripod and the stress of watching a friend at risk where the key points to solve to get a clean image.|Newen Waterfall (Calbuco river), Chile.|Camera: Sony ILCE-6000. Last climb of the day in the typical Jurrasic scenery. The common view of Polish Jura: bone white limestone and a medieval castle ruins. Just add the climber, and you have a perfect combination for a picture. At first, I had a plan just for a Sunset picture with the castle, so I've set my camera on a tripod and waited for the best light. But as soon the climber appeared in the frame, I immediately knew that it has to be a climbing shot instead of "just" a landscape.|Mirów, Poland|Camera: Canon 5D mk IV. Lens: Canon EF 70-200 2,8L.
